Following the Bouroullec brothers’ debut with the Cotone small dining armchair, the two designers have developed a Cotone collection to include a table, a wooden chair and a slimmer version of the dining chair. The components of the collection all have the same distinctive extruded aluminium frame characterised by sophisticated industrial details which means that they can be freely combined based on one’s tastes and requirements. Aluminium, an element of the future. The choice to focus this project on a light and malleable metal like aluminium reflects how Cassina carries out its industrial role in the furniture industry. A more modern material compared to other metals, it has an elegant appearance making it particularly aesthetically appealing. The Cotone table has a simple yet highly defined contemporary design. The table’s frame is available in the same familiar colour options as the Cotone chairs: aluminium anodised in aluminium, blue grey, green, red, copper or gun metal, or simply varnished black. This rigid base creates an elegant contrast to the natural materials of the table top in an oak finish or white Carrara, black Marquiña, Carnico grey or Emperador marble. A light yet extremely resistant table, its thin legs allow an ample number of chairs to be placed around it. Available in four rectangular variants as well as a square version, the Cotone table integrates perfectly into the Cassina table collection.
