Whether used at its shortest height as a style object in the living room, or at its tallest height as an additional stool at the dining table, the intelligent pouf can be adapted to individual needs within a few seconds. The impressive design of DS-5050 is based on a leather bellows. With the de Sede DNA in mind, the designer Kai Stania sought to show as much leather as possible. At the same time, he wanted to conceal the height-adjustment feature in the best way possible. After different trial designs, he achieved this concept. During the development phase, incidentally, this innovative stool was given a nickname that shouldn’t be withheld. With a form very reminiscent of French meringue pastries, the developers dubbed DS-5050 ‛macaron’. DS-5050 is available optionally as a table, too, with an elegant tabletop incorporated in place of the soft seating surface. As with the stool model, the table DS-5050 is infinitely adjustable and can grow in its height.
